Though security leaders often emphasise the need for data confidentiality, they often face varied hindrances in data integrity zones that may potentially face cyberattacks, where malicious actors tamper with, corrupt, and manipulate the information that is crucial for insight-driven organisations. In the future, an insider attack on government data integrity significantly increases employee dissatisfaction with the former's response to international issues and domestic policies tied to social issues, such as reproductive rights or cost-of-living pressures. Therefore, perpetrators conducting cybercrime will likely alter data to benefit the vulnerable via increased benefits to disadvantaged people and could pursue nefarious outcomes like manipulating data that could inform justice, budget, or public policy decisions.
