The Growth of Artificial Intelligence and InsurTech
Artificial intelligence is already transforming the way auto insurance operates. Insurance businesses now have access to a vast new horizon of data via data science and artificial intelligence.
For instance, AI may collect data on weather trends in specific places to aid risk selection and pricing.
Telematics-based data collection is already reshaping the car insurance industry. By analysing this data and rewarding or punishing safe driving behaviour, machine learning algorithms may tailor risk profiles for customers and incentivise them to drive more safely.
Increased use of Blockchain Technology and Cybersecurity in the Automobile Insurance Industry
Although widespread awareness of blockchain technology is still hazy, blockchain is positioned to become one of the insurance's following big things.
A blockchain is a decentralised ledger capable of tracking and recording digital transactions (stored inside a "block"). Due to the distributed nature of the ledger, it is far more secure, trustworthy, and incorruptible.
Since the chain of blocks is updated regularly, the transaction data is also updated and confirmed.
This enables insurance firms to track claims by examining the trusted ledger, which simplifies the process of monitoring driving history or habits and maintaining an irrefutable record of those actions. Even between parties that do not collaborate or compete, blockchain data is visible and unalterable.
This results in a significant decrease in the likelihood of fraud – to the point where fraudulent claims are nearly impossible.
Due to the comprehensive and dependable nature of blockchain storage, blockchain will also significantly accelerate the underwriting and know-your-customer (KYC) processes. When all parties involved have access to the same data (such as customer history), usually lengthy processes become significantly faster. Additionally, insurers can create more affordable insurance by tracking client data such as the number of hours driven.
In short, blockchain technology is about to perform miracles for insurers and drivers alike, saving time, decreasing fraud, and significantly increasing the security of data sharing.
