
Elon Musk Lays Off More Twitter Employees

Elon Musk announced a new wave of layoffs affecting Twitter’s sales teams.
FREMONT, CA:Elon Musk announced a fresh round of layoffs affecting Twitter's sales employees. Musk is laying off other employees to balance out each team, but it is still unclear how many people lost their jobs.
Musk started considering more layoffs, and when the company's head of ad sales, Robin Wheeler, and Twitter's vice president of partnerships, Maggie McLean Suniewick, refused to approve more layoffs, Musk dismissed them. Sarah Rosen, who oversaw Twitter's US content partnerships, also left the organisation. The most recent round of layoffs was first reported by Platformer.

Following Musk's request that they commit to a very tough work culture with long hours and high intensity, hundreds of employees left Twitter last week. Musk demanded that employees affirm their commitment by answering yes on a Google form, failing which they would receive severance pay.
The Verge previously reported that several essential teams in charge of keeping the website operational have either totally quit or have no members left. Former and present employees of Twitter feel there is a reasonable probability that the platform could crash soon because there aren't as many people remaining to handle its back end. After assuming control of the firm earlier this month, Musk already fired roughly half of Twitter's 7,500 employees, affecting workers in the product trust and safety, policy, communications, tweet curation, ethical AI, data science, and other departments.
In advance of the anticipated announcement of layoffs, many Twitter employees started posting on the platform that they had already been locked out of their work email accounts. Others sent out a salute and blue heart emojis to show they were at work.
Employees of Twitter from several teams, including ethical AI, marketing and communication, search, public policy, and wellness, have tweeted about being fired. According to employee posts, members of the curation team who assist boost trustworthy information on the platform, notably concerning elections, were also let go.
