
Capital and Operational Investments in AWS Japan Data Centres Total Yen 348 Billion

AWS has made Yen 348 billion in capital and operational investments in its data centres in Japan, with plans to be a multiplier for the country's economy.
FREMONT, CA:To improve the economy of Japan, AWS has invested Yen 348 billion in capital and operational investments in its data centres. The organisation's infrastructure has supported over 20,300 full-time positions at independent contractors in technical fields. The number of investments made by the corporation in various national infrastructure development initiatives and their anticipated economic impact was disclosed by Tadao Nagasaki, President of Amazon Web Services Japan.

According to Nagasaki, AWS was one of the first cloud service providers to receive certification under Japan's Information System Security Management and Assessment Program (ISMAP), a government initiative that evaluates the security of public cloud services and establishes a baseline standard for government procurement.
By constructing the infrastructure of the highest calibre, engaging with domestic Japanese businesses, and committing to digital skills and jobs in Japan, these initiatives and investments show AWS's long-term and ongoing commitment to Japan. They continue to support the continuous digital transformation of a country and contribute to its economic growth. The amount of capital and operational investments made by AWS since 2011 for its two AWS infrastructure Regions in the nation totals USD 1.35 trillion.
The infrastructure investment in the AWS Regions of Japan over the eleven years of 2011–2022 has contributed 1.31 trillion in GDP to the Japanese economy. After pure-play cloud-native security firm Aqua Security revealed that it had been recognised in the Compliance and Privacy category of the Amazon Web Services Security Competency, Aqua Security released its investment data.
This recognition acknowledges the fact that the Aqua Cloud Native Protection Platform has proven technology and extensive expertise to assist clients in achieving their cloud security objectives.
