DESILO redefines how organizations share sensitive data by eliminating the trade-off between data utility and security.

It has developed the DESILO Clean Room (DCR) platform that allows organizations to analyze combined datasets without exposing their raw data. With advanced cryptography that elevates the platform above traditional cloud solutions, its security surpasses industry standards—ensuring even DESILO cannot access the raw data. This ensures that complete control remains where it belongs—with the organizations that own it.

“For instance, the National Cancer Research Center in Korea, which manages an extensive database of cancer patient information, is collaborating with us to enable secure data sharing for medical research,” says Seungmyung Lee, co-founder and CEO. “Our platform facilitates collaboration between the public and private sectors while safeguarding the security and compliance of their invaluable data.”

Industry-Wide Data Protection

Organizations across various sectors, including public, corporate and academic, manage extensive, sensitive databases critical for strategic initiatives. However, such data management and collaboration face stringent compliance scrutiny, particularly as traditional data cleaning services, like AWS and Google Cloud, operate on a third-party trust model. This reliance often fails to meet the rigorous security standards required, prompting entities to place substantial trust in external providers to keep their data uncompromised.

DESILO’s homomorphic encryption and other privacy-enhancing technologies address this vulnerability, eliminating the need for a trusted third party. With DESILO, entities can fully secure their data through advanced cryptographic techniques, reducing dependency on external cloud providers and strengthening data security.
The platform also serves FinTech companies that manage valuable personal and business financial data.

With data monetization on the rise, FinTech firms are exploring ways to offer data access without compromising their intellectual property. Yet, traditional data exchanges, which involve physical data transfers, expose them to risks of data loss and intellectual property vulnerability.

DESILO has developed a ‘Data as a Service’ model, allowing data providers to retain ownership while offering secure access for analytics or processing. Through this platform, users receive only the results of their queries, while the provider’s original datasets remain protected and controlled. This safeguards FinTech firms’ data and allows them to unlock its value confidently without relinquishing control, positioning DESILO as a transformative solution in the data exchange market.

Redefining Research Boundaries

For researchers, market analysts and academic scholars, the demand for high-quality data—often inaccessible due to strict protective measures by providers—has been a longstanding challenge. These barriers have limited their capacity to conduct in-depth, innovative research, leaving critical data out of reach.

Through DESILO’s platform, users gain unprecedented access to valuable datasets, enabling comprehensive market analysis and academic exploration without jeopardizing data integrity. This solution not only enhances the scope and depth of user research but represents a breakthrough in data accessibility, effectively bridging the gap between high-demand data usage and uncompromised security.

A Glimpse into the Future of Secure AI

In addition to its innovative DESILO clean room solutions, DESILO is developing a new product line called Private AI, designed to enable secure interactions with AI models while ensuring absolute privacy for users. Like popular generative AI tools, Private AI allows users to submit prompts and receive responses. However, it introduces a unique security layer—users can encrypt their prompts before submission, with the AI processing these encrypted inputs and returning encrypted responses. Only the user holds the decryption key, ensuring they can access both prompt and response content alone.

This exchange remains entirely private, preventing any external access—neither the AI model provider nor cloud services managing the process can view the interactions.

Private AI, still in development, has sparked significant interest from enterprises and government entities facing the challenge of leveraging AI without risking exposure to confidential data or trade secrets. Many organizations currently restrict AI usage to protect sensitive information, limiting their ability to fully capitalize on AI technology’s potential. By offering a secure alternative, Private AI enables organizations to utilize AI while safeguarding data integrity, eliminating the need for costly on-premises infrastructure or complex in-house AI systems.

“As industries continue to embrace digital transformation, we stand as a trusted partner, enabling secure, privacy-preserving data collaboration. Our solutions empower organizations to gain powerful insights while protecting sensitive data,” concludes Howard Park, co-founder and CSO.
