In the fast-paced world of payments, businesses face a multitude of challenges that demand constant adaptation and innovation. The constraints range from technological advancements to cross-border issues, cybersecurity threats, and regulatory environments.

By offering integrated cashless and technology-based payment ecosystems integrated with cutting-edge cybersecurity products and services, Bastion aims to raise the bar in the industry and help in providing more secure payments and connectivity in the world.

“We strive to redefine industry standards and ensure utmost security and connectivity in the global payment sphere with our seamlessly integrated cashless and technology-driven payment ecosystems, bolstered by state-of-the-art cybersecurity solutions,” says Wilfred G. Tan, the president and CEO of Bastion.

Revolutionizing the Payment Landscape

Bastion fosters trust and cultivates long-term partnerships, which have played a pivotal role in its consistent growth. Together with its extensive network of partners, Bastion has expanded its portfolio of products and services, establishing a strong presence not only in the payment technology realm but also in closely related areas like cybersecurity products and services. This expansion has further strengthened Bastion’s position in the market, enabling it to cater to a wider range of client needs and deliver comprehensive solutions.

In 2016, Bastion came out with its six pillars of cybersecurity as an adjunct set of products and services to its payment technology solutions—covering a wide spectrum of cybersecurity concerns, from automated risk and compliance and chaos-based endpoint detection and response to automated disaster and facial biometrics. The objective is to raise the cybersecurity defensive profile of its partners and clients and indirectly have a net positive effect on shielding the public in today’s ever-changing threat landscape.

Offering Seamless Integration with Global Payment Channels

Bastion is committed to delivering high-quality, reliable, and secure payment solutions that meet the needs of each of its clients. The company’s different payment platforms have received certification and recognition from the industry and international bodies.

As a pioneer in the payments space, Bastion provides the whole range of traditional payment services for numerous card schemes, including Discover Global Network, JCB, UnionPay, and customized brands, among others. Its platform offers seamless integration with various payment channels, including traditional point-of-sale (POS) systems, online payment gateways, and mobile payment solutions.
Decades of experience have enabled Bastion to grow its portfolio and menu of features and services within the general retail categories, allowing it to enhance and explore adjacent business areas. A few years back, Bastion in partnership with another partner, was awarded by the Banko Sentral ng Pilipinas to develop, customize, and deliver the next-generation real-time gross settlement system called the PhilPass Plus. The project was successfully delivered in 2021, notwithstanding challenges presented by the pandemic with regards to resources, scheduling, and on-site presence.

The Cyber 2.0 Product

To up its ante by enabling more effective internal network security, Bastion has launched Cyber 2.0. Unlike other EDR solutions that are based on the typical “biological” model, Bastion’s Cyber 2.0 is based on the chaos mathematical model. This means that the solution does not require periodic signature updates that we often see publicized in the news today, asking customers to patch up their signature databases because the mathematics of the engine remains constant.

This allows the EDR engine to detect and prevent zero-day attacks and close and prevent side-step and side-channel cybersecurity attacks while ensuring relatively unobtrusive and low impact on computing infrastructure. Also, this enables Cyber 2.0 to be deployed 100 percent on-premise, through cloud, and, for traditional clients, as an appliance.

Bastion’s experience and expertise in the financial and payments industry, along with the entrepreneurial vibe and spirit, always give it an edge.

Bastion’s executive team is made up of owner-operators. Its shareholders take a very active role in growing the company and working with key partners and stakeholders.

“Our management team is made up of seasoned, experienced veterans from different industries, allowing Bastion to take a highly diversified perspective while working with clients,” says Tan.

Offering Bespoke Methodology

Bastion’s hand-in-glove partnership and close-knit, operating integration with OmniPay have allowed it to offer the best-in-class multicurrency and multichannel solutions.

By putting the client’s business first, it has gained an understanding of their payment processing needs. The company’s bespoke methodology involves selecting and recommending the best payment solutions for each client based on a thorough analysis of their business needs, models, growth plans, and other factors. It aligns the customer needs, and technological capabilities, weaved in and integrated with the cybersecurity solutions and standards to ensure that the services power clients’ businesses and allow them to focus on engaging their customers and growing their portfolio and revenue in the safest, most expedient way possible.

“We believe that to understand and appreciate Bastion, you have to have one foot firmly grounded and another set towards the future; this is our vision of providing cutting-edge innovation grounded in technology while not forgetting our roots,” says Tan.

As Bastion continues expanding and cultivating new partnerships and markets, it will always strive to do better and continuously evolve with the times in the payments market, cybersecurity, and future technologies.
