Humanity’s relentless growth is driving many other living organisms on Earth to the brink. For example, in just 50 years, from 1970 to 2020, the global shark population has shriveled by 71 percent. Whales have had it worse. Their population worldwide has plummeted by 85 percent. Countless fish and marine mammals have been designated as protected species, which means more aquariums have had to release their Beluga whales back into nature, and people are shunning dolphin shows because of real and potential animal abuse issues.

Specializing in robot that looks like real fish, AIRO aspires to deliver the best products and services available. The company provides services to the aqua entertainment industry, which includes aquariums and theme parks, by reproducing protected fish species, rare fish species, and extinct marine life with robots.

AIRO’s aquatic and fish robots can swim stably for more than 10 hours on a single charge, even at the depth and pressure of 50m. Some of the larger robots, such as dolphins, are equipped with fisheye lens cameras in both eyes and water quality sensors that detect oxygen consumption, organic carbon, nitrogen, ammonia nitrogen, and methane levels.

Using these devices, AIRO robots can find areas contaminated by fish excrement or dead carcasses in large aquarium tanks.

The company is also developing technology that helps people explore the underwater world inside a tank from the dolphin’s perspective using cameras mounted inside a robot dolphin’s eyes.

AIRO uses AI-learning technology to recognize the outline of an object and determine what it is. AI technology can also help the robot understand its precise position within a tank (SLAM) or distinguish and avoid objects that the robot may collide with if it continues to travel in the same direction. The information determined by AI image processing is involved in the swimming algorithm of AIRO’s robots to naturally control the swimming motion from its current position to where it needs to go in order to avoid an obstacle by adjusting the direction, rotation angle, and swimming speed.

Rather than developing robots that directly affect aquatic and marine life in oceans, AIRO focuses on robots that solve the problems the aqua entertainment industry is currently facing. Given that dolphin shows are becoming a thing of the past due to various dolphin species becoming protected and possible animal abuse concerns, AIRO can add more diversity and joy to shows with robot dolphin, robot stingray, and robot whale fish shows delivered in combination with magnificent digital signage devices.



AIRO freely explores the water, where all living organisms on earth can trace their origins back to; it collects underwater information and utilizes its database to make its dream of an underwater world that brings joy to people with marine life robots a reality. The company wants to use robotics technology to recreate extinct marine creatures from the past, such as the Paleozoic Era, and bring back to life animals that now exist only in fossils.
